When is Canadian Days?

Canadian Days is usually held the first weekend in August.  We try to plan around Canada's Civic Holiday which is observed the first Monday in August, so that our visitors from our Sister-City Thunder Bay have an extra day to travel safely home. 

The dates for 2017 are August 4-6.  Mark your calendars!

Do I receive any deals with the purchase of a Canadian Days button?

All persons wearing a button will receive a free ear of corn on the cob on Friday night; and a free pancake breakfast on Saturday morning.  There is a button prize drawing on Sunday at 3:00 PM.  All button proceeds help to support the Canadian Days festival. 

Not only that, but many of our sponsors have coupons printed on our button cards!

Canadian Days is run by an all-volunteer committee and appreciates your support for this community event!

Where can I buy Canadian Days buttons?

Canadian Days buttons will go on sale July 1st!  Buttons cost $3 each and can be purchased at

  • MN Catholic Credit Union
  • North Heights Hardware Hank
  • Ryan's automotive

Buttons are also available at Spooner Park during the Canadian Days festival.

Canadian Days is an all-volunteer organization and relies on button sales to help fund the festival.  Please support your community festival and buy a Canadian Days Button!

How can I volunteer?

There are many ways to volunteer:

 

  • You can JOIN the planning committee
  • You can volunteer during the festival
  • If you belong to an organization, you may be eligible for fundraising opportunites during the festival, if your group provides volunteers
Is handicapped parking available or a shuttle bus?

Limited handicapped parking is available at Spooner Park.

There is a FREE Park and Ride shuttle bus running from Spooner Park to both the east and west parking lots of Pioneer Park on

  • Friday from 5 PM to 11 PM
  • Saturday from 8 AM to 11 PM
  • Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM (following the Parade)

Pioneer Park is just north of Spooner Park on Centerville Road or DeSoto Street.  The shuttle service is sponsored by the Canadian Days Committee and the Little Canada Recreation Association.

There is also a FREE shuttle from Saxon Bowling Lanes to Spooner Park on Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Can I buy discounted, advanced sale ride tickets?

Stipes Shows will offer a $20 all you can ride wristband that is good on Friday from 6 to 10 PM and on Saturday from Noon to 4 PM. 

There are no advance sale tickets. 

All ride tickets must be purchased from Stipes Shows at Spooner Park during the festival. 

Where is the Grand Parade route?

The Grand Parade begins Sunday at 12:00 PM at Saxon Lanes at the corner of Market Place Drive and Little Canada Road.  It travels east on Little Canada Road, then turns north on Centerville Road.  From there, the route turns east onto Eli Road to Little Canada Elementary School where it ends.

Will the 5K Race results be posted on the web site?

Yes.  The results will be posted within one week after race day.

How do you choose the entertainment?

The Canadian Days Entertainment Committee continually checks out bands that will appeal to a wide audience.  If you have suggestions, contact us at info@canadiandays.org, or even better yet....JOIN the Canadian Days Committee and be a part of the selection process! 

Please keep in mind that the cost of bands must fit within our budget as we are an all volunteer organization and raise the funds to put on your community festival.

What kind of rides will you offer this year?
We are very pleased to announce that Stipes Shows will provide our carnival in 2017!  They have a variety of rides as well as game booths! 

And don't forget L.C.'s Playland for the toddler to age 12 crowd.  There are many fun games and activities AND tickets are only 25 cents.

When and on which channels will the Canadian Days festivities be replayed on cable?

The Canadian Days parade can be seen on Little Canada Cable Channels 15 & 16.  Check CTV Channel 15's Web site for replay times.  Channel 16's replay schedule can be found on the City of Little Canada's Web site.
