Building Permits
Building permits are required for new construction and most remodeling projects. Some of the most commonly obtained permits are for roofing, siding, decks, patio doors, and pools.

Driveway Permits
This permit helps regulate the amount of paving that exists on properties as well as reduces dust and erosion runoff onto streets and eventually into lakes.

Electrical Permits
**New Electrical Permit and Fees Effective 1/01/2020** Electrical permits are required for all electrical work. Contractors must be State licensed.

Fence Permits
Before you put up your fence, you must obtain a permit from the City of Little Canada.

Fill Permits
Fill permits are required for all filling/grading work. If over 100 yards is brought in, Council approval and a $300 deposit is also required.

Fire Permits for Recreation
Recreational fires are allowed within the City of Little Canada per Section 2002.010 of our Municipal Code.

Fire Sprinkler System Permit
We use our Building Permit application for our Fire Sprinkler System Permit. Complete the application and submit with two sets of plans.

Hydrant Meter Permit
Anyone needing water from a fire hydrant in Little Canada must first obtain a permit from Little Canada City Center.

Mechanical Permits
Mechanical permits are required for installation of a new furnace, air conditioner, or for other work relating to heating and ventilating. Homeowners can perform their own work.

Parking Permits
Residents living on streets that have "no parking" signs posted on both sides of their street can apply for parking permits for special events.

Plumbing Permits
Plumbing permits are required for outside sewer and water installations, water meter installations, and inside plumbing work.

Right-of-way Permits
Right-of-way permits are required for any kind of utility work which involves working or digging in City streets.

Sign Permits
Sign permits are required for temporary and permanent signs. The installation of a permanent sign requires the contractor to be State or City licensed, and two sets of plans must be submitted with the application.

Solicitor's Permits
There is no permit fee for a solicitor's permit. However, there is a $50 administrative fee that covers our costs of processing the application.
